#FHIR DevDays comes to Boston

Apr 24, 2018

It’s less than 2 months to FHIR DevDays USA. It’s our first visit to the US, and it will be held from June 19 to 21 in Boston, MA. FHIR DevDays USA 2018, Boston, MA, 19-21 June

When we - that is, the FHIR Community and the people from Firely - used to be Furore - started FHIR DevDays in Amsterdam back in 2014 it was the prime educational event for FHIR in the world. It still is - it’s different from the HL7 connectathons and working group meetings, where the focus is on the building the standard. At DevDays it’s all about learning, and about sharing ideas, issues and best practices between implementers.

What I personally like about DevDays is it’s openness, the way it lets people interact. FHIR is a piece of technology that makes people’s job easier and actually more fun. That’s what DevDays is about. It’s where we meet the people who want to learn how to use FHIR, move healthcare data around, and who appreciate it if it works, and complain if it doesn’t. At DevDays we the tools smiths meet with the people who want to use the tool to fix the job. They learn how to use the FHIR, we learn how to make it better.

FHIR DevDays is organized by HL7 International and Firely and supported by the FHIR Foundation. Registration is open at https://www.fhirdevdays.com/boston/registration. Early bird deadline is May 18.
